Copper Country Quintet

For the first time in eighty years, the City Opera House will open its balcony to the public, entertaining the audience with Michigan folk and roots music. Daisy May Erlewine and Seth Bernard will be performing along with a handful of other musicians from the Earthwork Music label. Recently the duo placed third out of 740 entries in Prairie Home Companion’s talent show “People In Their Twenties”. Together with Dominic Suchyta on bass, Drew Howard on pedal steel and Andrea Moreno-Beals on cello, these musicians create the Copper Country Quintet. For this performance, Mike Shimmin will join the group to make the Copper Country Sextet. Opening the night will be Breathe Owl Breathe, an earthy Michigan duo with roots in indie, classical and traditional music who are finishing an East Coast tour promoting their new album “Canadian Shield”. Grassroots Productions invites you to come early to look around the newly renovated City Opera House and enjoy food and beer available from local establishments.
